Apart from both being hugely innovative in the heavy metal genre, with Korn generally credited for inventing the nu-metal genre and Alice In Chain's unique two-vocal grunge style, the band are recently linked by their work with Nick Raskulinecz. With his "as a fan," approach, he brought Korn's signature funk sounds back in their latest album, "The Serenity Of Suffering”, which has been well-received by critics, with metal hammer calling the album “a selection box of Korn's defining moments."
Alice In Chains, on the other hand, are touring with their album "Rainier Fog." Earning the band a Grammy nomination for Best Album, Rainier Fog has been met with critical acclaim in addition to fan approval. "Each track showcases masterful songwriting and inspired lyricism," wrote Metal Hammer. "Rainier Fog sees the band breathing new life into their signature sound, with a diverse and deeply emotional collection that history will surely view as a career-defining statement."
