This year, Slightly Stoopid brings along fellow reggae rock connoisseurs, Iration, and alternative hip-hop reggae fusion powerhouse Little Stranger. The San Diego born septet released their self-titled debut work in 1996. The band was discovered by late Sublime singer Bradley Nowell and were later signed to his record label, Skunk Records. During the resurgence of reggae rock in the early 2000s, Slightly Stoopid made their amazing breakthrough with their fourth album, Closer to the Sun. The album broke into the Billboard 200 and topped the Heatseekers chart. The album spawned several hits, including Slightly Stoopid’s most popular single, “Close to the Sun,” which remains to be their top most listened to track across streaming platforms. Slightly Stoopid have released a total of nine fantastic records, most of which have charted on Billboard.
Iration brings reggae, rock, dub and hip-hop and delivers a unique fusion of sounds. The band is known for their incredibly robust performances. This three piece outfit from Hawaii has described themselves as roots reggae rock purveyors and their studio works have consistently topped or ranked impressively on the Billboard’s Reggae charts since releasing their debut, No Time to Rest in 2007.
Brothers Kevin and John Shields deliver something incredibly unique with their reggae infused hip-hop and rock music. The duo from South Carolina made their debut with Buddha the Beast. Last year, Little Stranger released their latest effort, Sat Around Tripping, which spawned the hits, “Fly Guy,” “God at a Festival,” and “Sofia.”
