Stevie Nicks is known for being the lead singer of the monumental rock band Fleetwood Mac. Formerly a blues band, Fleetwood Mac recruited Nicks, along with Lindsey Buckingham, and made a much-welcome shift to rock music. The band’s fame skyrocketed thanks to Nicks’ exemplary pop-rock style vocals. Together, they achieved phenomenal commercial success and released colossal hits, such as “Dreams,” “Go Your Own Way,” “Little Lies,” and “Don’t Stop,” among others.
In 1981, Nicks released her debut solo album, Bella Donna. The album topped the Billboard 200 chart and earned platinum status a mere three months after it was dropped. Bella Donna spawned Nicks’ most fan-beloved singles such as “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” “Edge of Seventeen,” “Leather and Lace,” and “After the Glitter Fades.”
Stevie Nicks is the only woman inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1998, she was inducted along with the members of Fleetwood Mac. In 2019, she was inducted again, this time for her work as a solo artist.
Vanessa Carlton is a pop artist and pianist known for her megahit, “A Thousand Miles.” The debut single, spawned by her debut album, Be Not Nobody, peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on the Hot Pop Singles chart. The record was so immensely popular that it earned a double platinum certification in the U.S. and gold in six countries. The song earned three Grammy nominations, including Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s), Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
