Kicking things off in June, the Queens will make 30 stops across the country from Concord, California, at the Toyota Pavilion to other huge venues like Madison Square Garden in New York City, the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, and of course one stop right here in West Palm Beach, Florida at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre on Sunday, July 14th 2024. Old fans will recognize the title of the tour from last year, when Xscape and SWV collaborated on a Bravo television series called SWV & XSCAPE: The Queens of R&B. Where the members first attempted to get this tour going. Well, this news just in... Xscape Members Admit to 'Reluctantly' Signing on for New TV Show 'Queens of R&B' with SWV, so this is happening, people!
"I’m incredibly honored to be part of this HERstory making moment in R&B music, and to announce this tour during Women’s History Month makes it much more impactful," Scott-Young, the tours' producer, told People Magazine at the tour announcement. "What started as a television series turned into something much greater, and I’m proud to be producing this tour, alongside Live Nation, as Xscape and SWV, along with incredible talents 702, TOTAL and MYA, embark on this journey together." She continued, "These ladies have all given their all to R&B music, despite experiencing the ups and downs of life and career, and it is with great pride and excitement that we bring this highly anticipated concert experience to the fans."
And now, back to the drama... The television series became popular entertainment as SWV and Xscape butted heads, while being unable to agree on which group would headline a one-night-only show, the groups also dealt with a lot of personal drama, internal conflict, Sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott fought over money in every scene, and there was some other family issues too. Since the show, LaTocha has left the group and is currently performing and releasing music as a solo artist.
XSCAPE has sold a staggering 9 million records worldwide, and has had six top-10 songs on the Billboard 100. Meanwhile, SWV has racked up, an impressive, 30 million record sales worldwide, and has been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
